Disneyland Paris, or more precisely the Walt Disney Studios Park, is getting a Frozen Land! This was announced by Disney CEO Robert Iger on February 27, 2018 in Paris. The area is scheduled to open between 2021 and 2023. So all fans of Anna, Elsa, Olaf & Co will need a little patience. It was immediately clear that work would begin on the Avengers Campus, the Marvel area, before work on Frozenland got underway. In the meantime, the Avengers Campus has opened and work on the Frozen area is in full swing. Disneyland Paris kept the opening secret for a long time. We therefore suspected that the new Frozen area would not open until 2025 or even 2026.
Now it's official: Disneyland Paris will open the World of Frozen in 2026. World of Frozen will then be part of Disney Adventure World, which is the new name of Walt Disney Studios Park.
OPENING IN 2026!
At the beginning, no details were known about the new Frozen Land at Disneyland Paris. All that was available was the concept art, which can be seen at the top of this page. When looking at this draft, it quickly becomes apparent that there are some similarities with the concept drawings for Hong Kong Disneyland. The area based on the film "Frozen" was originally scheduled to open at Hong Kong Disneyland in December 2021 and was to be called Arendelle: World of Frozen. This plan has also been delayed, with the area not opening until November 2023. It will include two attractions, one of which is a family-friendly roller coaster called Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sleighs, and the other a water ride that is, in the broadest sense, a copy of Frozen Ever After at Epcot. The area will also include live entertainment, shops and restaurants.
But back to Paris. We know that there will be a meet and greet in the castle of Arendelle; probably with Anna and Elsa. There is now also a first concept art (it can be seen in the picture gallery a little further down on this page). There will also be a dark ride that will essentially be the same as the water attraction from Hong Kong or Orlando. Concept drawings published on February 12, 2020, also show a large restaurant. They also give a first impression of what the new area will look like. These drawings have been published in our Disney Parks Magazine. In spring 2024, the name of the new theme area at Walt Disney Studios was also announced: World of Frozen.
As soon as there are official announcements and further news about the World of Frozen, you will find them here at dlp.info
Unfortunately, we do not yet have an exact date for the opening of the World of Frozen. At the D23 in Anaheim on August 10, 2024, Josh D'Amaro only mentioned the year 2026 for the opening.
