Daily nighttime spectacular at Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Park

Since the end of March 2017, the official start of the 25th anniversary celebrations, you can enjoy the Disney Illuminations evening show every evening as the culmination of the day.
State-of-the-art technology transforms Sleeping Beauty Castle in the heart of Disneyland Park into a giant magic screen on which the most beautiful Disney stories come to life.

Mickey Mouse, the world's most famous mouse, will be on hand to guide you through the programme. At park closing time, Mickey will be waiting for you at Disneyland Park's fairytale castle for the Disney Illuminations show.
Lighting effects, dancing water fountains, pyrotechnics and many special effects will transport you into the world of Disney films, which come to life thanks to modern mapping technology. This new technology also makes it possible to see scenes from live-action films for the first time in a Disney projection show. Disney Illuminations is an atmospheric mix of beloved Disney classics, more recent animated movies and some Disney feature films. All of this is accompanied by the appropriate music. Goosebump moments and a few tears are guaranteed.

If you're wondering which films Mickey Mouse will be presenting, we won't keep you in suspense any longer and will tell you which films are featured in the fireworks show.
In the Disney Illuminations evening show you will see excerpts from the following films:

  • Finding Nemo
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Up
  • Star Wars 
  • Frozen

The film scenes are embedded in a supporting stroyline that has been specially developed for Disneyland Paris.

New pre-show for Disney Illuminations

For Disneyland Paris' 30th birthday, there's something new: a pre-show for Disney Illuminations - Disney D-Light.
In this pre-show, 200 drones will soar into the night sky above Sleeping Beauty Castle and stage a light presentation. This is a first of its kind and has never been seen before at any Disney Park in the world. The drones will draw pictures in the sky and are guaranteed to amaze.
This extension of the evening show at the castle will be accompanied by fitting music composed especially for the occasion and recorded in the world-famous Abbey Road Studios.

 

Pirates of the Carribbean as part of Disney Illuminations

Pirates ot the Caribbean, the film saga about Captain Jack Sparrow, was originally based on the Pirates of the Carribean dark ride, which is an integral part of every Disney resort. It is therefore only logical that this film is part of the Disney Illumintaions evening show.
So you can look forward to lots of action and adventure with Jack Sparrow & Co.

Of course, the new mapping technology is not limited to one film, but offers almost endless possibilities. The Disney Imagineers have decided to include scenes from other live-action films in the Disney Illuminations show.
Since 26 March 2017, you can travel night after night to a galaxy far, far away and immerse yourself in the Star Wars universe.

Frozen may obviously not be missing!

But the classic animated films from Disney are also represented in the new nighttime show. The Lion King and Ariel the Mermaid are just as much a part of the show as the heroes from Finding Nemo. The film Frozen is also not to be missed these days. Therefore, the characters from Frozen with the catchy tune "Let it go" are naturally included. And even though the film is now a few years old, the fascination is obviously unbroken, as you can see by the entire audience joining in once Let it Go starts playing.

 

Star Wars is also part of Disney Illuminations

And all Star Wars fans get their money's worth every evening, because the famous film saga about Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca and Darth Vader is also part of Disney Illuminations.
Admittedly, it seems a little strange at first when there is a wild shootout in space right next to Sleeping Beauty Castle. But if you get immersed in the scene, you'll quickly be right in the middle of it and experience this really impressive moment with all your senses.
